The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is joining The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS), and law enforcement agencies across the state for the “Click It. Don’t Risk It.” seat belt enforcement campaign from May 18 through May 31, 2026.

On average, every 54 minutes a passenger vehicle occupant not wearing a seat belt dies in a traffic crash.

With increased enforcement taking place locally during the busy Memorial Day travel period, we encourage all drivers and passengers to wear their seat belts every trip, every time
